Republic Payment Systems – A Woodlands-based credit card processing firm
The Woodlands, Texas (August 1, 2010)
If you are a business owner, chances are you’ve had to deal with credit card processing in some capacity. Unless you have a PhD in Quantum Physics, it can be very difficult to understand. Even then, it’s complicated.
In 2003, Terry McBurney had just put the finishing touches on a new business plan in which credit card processing was an integral component. He quickly discovered the difficulties in understanding exactly how the credit card processing industry worked. Out of his own frustration as a business owner, he began his quest to learn all he could about the industry and in 2005, scratched his original business idea and formed his first credit card processing firm. His goal? To simplify credit card processing!
Today, Terry is President and CEO of Republic Payment Systems, a venture he formed and self-funded in 2008. Republic serves merchants in many industries including Restaurants, Retail, Healthcare and Non Profits. Since its inception, Republic has differentiated itself from a typical credit card processor by offering terms previously unheard of in the industry. Month-to-Month Agreements, No Cancellation Fees and $0.06 Transaction Fees are standard for all Republic customers. “Our business model is quite simple. If we deliver as promised, our customers will continue to choose Republic for their credit card processing needs. If not, we do not deserve their business,” he asserts. Kind of takes you back to when a handshake was the contract!
Republic has enjoyed tremendous success in part due to a key strategic relationship forged with Sysco Foods of Houston. “Our growth strategy employs several key components of which Sysco plays an important role,” Terry said. Through the Sysco ICARE Program, Republic provides exclusive services to Sysco and their customers throughout Southeast Texas. “We work extremely well with Sysco’s sales force which exceeds 150 well qualified individuals. As a customer service minded firm, working alongside like-minded individuals only complements our efforts,” he asserts.
Terry is also a community minded individual serving as a Board Member of the Montgomery County Restaurant Association and he was recently selected to participate in the LMC (Leadership Montgomery County) Class of 2011.
Terry McBurney’s grounded business philosophy is also a reflection of his personal life. He and his wife Jennifer have four wonderful daughters and have been long-time residents of The Woodlands. Jennifer hails from Conroe and her parents, Jesse and Sandra Powell are proprietors of Conroe Funeral Directors. Jennifer’s grandfather, Rigby Owen, Sr., was an original pioneer of many businesses in Conroe including The Courier and KIKR Radio.
Whether you are a new venture or an existing business, take a moment and discover why everyone is choosing Republic Payment Systems for their credit card processing needs.
