Montgomery County Restaurant Association Honors New President, Awards Scholarships

The Woodlands, Texas (April 29, 2010) The Montgomery County Restaurant Association recently held its first annual President’s Dinner to honor its outgoing president Imran Iqbal, Ricos Mexican Grill family of restaurants and welcome incoming president Joe Welge, Culvers of The Woodlands.

Held at The Grand Palace on April 29th, the event also served as a fundraiser raising over $7,500 for scholarships to be awarded to restaurant member employees pursuing a career in the food service industry.  The event was sponsored by Sysco Houston, US Foodservice and Glazier Foods.

Incepted in 2008 and over 175 members strong, The Montgomery County Restaurant Association is a Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association.

Board Member Terry McBurney of Republic Payment Systems noted, “This was a tremendous event for us to showcase our presence here in Montgomery County.  This chapter is an excellent network for local restaurateurs and the industries that serve them.  We are looking forward to next year’s endeavors under the leadership of our new president,  Joe Welge.”
